Martina de Marcos Project Manager

As a project manager, Martina brings her knowledge in waste management, organizational skills and a big passion for ensuring a clean environment.
Martina has worked with APWC for the past year, her focus was in the management of waste audits in 3 countries in the Caribbean commencing before and continuing through the outbreak of COVD-19. Martina has delivered and continues to deliver presentations and workshops on marine litter around the world. To date she has delivered presentations in 180 different locations in 13 countries, mostly focused in Latin America. Project achievements include encouraging the plastic bag ban in Panama, encouraging the single-use plastics ban in Ensenada, Mexico and Puerto Cortez, Honduras which are now being implemented. She also participated in many activities with the Green Team Sydney.
Martina studied a Marine Science major at the University of Sydney and a Masters in Philosophy which analysed best available technologies to better manage plastic waste in islands and analysed the success of banning single-use plastics.
Martina lives as plastic-free as she can.
