Ana is a marine scientist with a decade long experience in marine debris research, particularly plastics and microplastics. She has international experience previously working in Australia, New Zealand and most recently in Samoa for the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Program (SPREP) on a delivery a broad review of marine debris issues in the Pacific region. She also has extensive fieldwork experience in research in Australia, New Zealand, Samoa, Tonga, French Polynesia and Easter Island. She is experienced and skilled in working in remote locations in all conditions, as well as culturally diverse and fast-paced offices environment. Ana holds a PhD in Marine Science from the University of Auckland (New Zealand) and a master’s degree in Marine Science and Management from Southern Cross University (Australia).
